Here’s What Caitlyn Wants You to Know
Hello!
My name is Caitlyn Norwood, and I am the Marketing and Affiliate Manager at VTR Learning. I have worked here since September of 2017.
Some of my interests include: spending time with others over a good cup of coffee or tea. I love to travel to new place with my family or going to the zoo with my husband and son. I also love flowers and taking care of my little collection of plants. And I recently started painting D&D miniatures.
I grew up in Emory, Texas, where I got an early taste of business helping at the wholesale plant farm owned and operated by my grandparents and dad. We grew annual flowering plants and vegetables. After graduating, I moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma for college at Oklahoma Baptist University. I started as a music major but ended up graduating with a degree in Sociology before moving on to VTR Learning!
Caitlyn Answered Five Questions About Herself
What is your favorite book?
It’s more like my favorite books, but I really love the Outlander series by Dianna Gabaldon. She is an excellent storyteller and extremely intelligent. Although it’s a fantasy/drama, the stories she tells are so relatable and you feel like you are growing with the characters.
Where would you go if you could travel anywhere in the world?
The furthest from home I’ve traveled is Beaconsfield, Tasmania (in Australia). I spent two weeks there. But I would honestly like to go to as many places I can, particularly in Europe. But some of the top places are the UK – I would love to spend a few months there, and I would also like to visit Japan sometime.
Who is your favorite superhero?
Iron Man was the first MCU movie I watched, and I loved it. So, from a nostalgic side of things, Iron Man will always have a special place. (I love you 3000!) I really liked how Iron Man changed throughout his life and how he brought everyone together.
But lately, my favorite superhero has probably been Doctor Strange. He is one of the later heroes in the MCU to join before Infinity War but is also there to help pick up the pieces after everything went down in End Game. He also represents a different type of hero. He’s not just a strong/fast/technological hero He works with the mystical arts, and it’s nice to see that difference.
But let’s be honest. Venom takes the cake… at least the movie version. I love his sassiness.
If you could learn about any subject, what would it be?
If I could learn about any subject, it would probably be psychology. I feel like that’s a cliché answer, but I really do enjoy it – and there are many facets of it. There’s business psychology, psychology of aging, family psychology, etc. I like to figure out why things work the way they do, why people think the way they do, etc.
What’s the best part about working at VTR Learning?
The best part about working at VTR Learning is that we feel like a family. And with that, we have the room to learn and grow. There are so many skills I have gained in my time here that I never could have imagined learning.
